22/08/2010

DWP's Structural Reform Plan is now available on its website. The plan outlines the key actions and milestones for delivering the Department's priorities, which are to:

• recognise work as the primary sustainable route out of poverty and reduce the number of children in workless households;
• tackle pensioner poverty by providing decent State Pensions and encourage employers to provide high quality pensions for all employees;
• ensure that disabled people have the same opportunities as non-disabled people to succeed in life and fully participate in society; and
• work with communities and partners to deliver excellent service to the Department's 20 million customers

The plan sets out the actions DWP will take to deliver the priorities set out above, when those actions will be put in place, and when they will be completed. The doucment is published in draft until the details of the Spending Review are known. When finalised, it will become part of the Department's business plan and will be updated annually.
